Rohit Sharma creates history, shatter records against Pakistan in World Cup

Rohit Sharma scored 140 off 113 balls before he was dismissed by Hasan Ali. Rohit Sharma scored his 4th hundred in England and his second in World Cup 2019. Rohit Sharma scored his fastest one-day international century off just 85 balls.

Rohit Sharma became the first Indian batsman to score back-to-back hundred against Pakistan, last time he scored a century against Pakistan was in Asia Cup 2018. Rohit Sharma also became the first Indian opener to score a century against Pakistan in World Cup.


Indian openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma registered the highest opening partnership stand of 136 runs against Pakistan in World Cup. The previous best was 90 runs. This is India’s highest World Cup total against Pakistan in a World Cup match, their previous best was 300 in 2015 World Cup.

India was asked to bat first after Virat Kohli lost the toss. Indian top order put up a great show after KL Rahul scored 57, Rohit Sharma scored 140 and Virat Kohli is still unbeaten at 71. The rain stopped the play in 47th over just after Vijay Shankar took a successful review to save his wicket.
