Indian opener Rohit Sharma registered the record for most sixes hit by an Indian batsman in one-day international cricket. Rohit Sharma with five sixes against Bangladesh today took his tally of sixes to 230. Rohit Sharma overtook former India captain MS Dhoni, who has 221 sixes in ODIs for India. Dhoni has 228 sixes in ODI cricket but he hit seven out of 228 playing for Asia XI.
India and Bangladesh are playing the 40th match of World Cup 2019. Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first. Indian top order was looking very good as opener KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma registered a record opening partnership for India in World Cup. The first wicket for India fell at 180 after Rohit Sharma scored his record fourth century of this World Cup.
KL Rahul was then dismissed by Rubel for 77 runs. Indian skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed by Mustafizur for 26 runs. Hardik Pandya was dismissed for a duck by Mustafizur. Rishabh Pant was in good form before he fell short of two runs from his first World Cup fifty.
India finished the innings at 314-9 as MS Dhoni scored 35 off 33 before being dismissed by Mustafizur. Mustafizur Rahman took his first five-wicket-haul of World Cup.
