Royal Challengers Banglore have reached their fate as they followed Delhi Daredevils to the group of eliminated teams after they were crushed by the Rajasthan Royals on the penultimate day of the league stage of the tournament. The RCB struggled all the time since the start of the IPL 11. Their bowling was not impressive and their batting depended too much on individual performances.
Despite being one of the strongest sides on paper, they could not make it to the playoffs. RCB invested a ton of money in some of the players who were supposed to be the key to winning the matches but many of them proved to be nothing more than a disappointment for the team.
Here's the list of three such players whom RCB might drop in the season to come:
3. Sarfaraz Khan
RCB displayed exceptional faith in him by retaining deciding to retain him even before the IPL auctions. The faith shown was not for no reason as Sarfaraz Khan has shown great promise in the past but disappointed this year. In the seven matches he played this year, he scored a paltry 51 runs with a low average of 10.20. The 20-year-old was given a lot of chances to redeem himself but to no success.
2. Brandon McCullum
The expectations were high from the New Zealand player looking at the stature his name enjoys in the world cricket but he just could not perform up to the mark. In the six matches that the former New Zealand skipper played this season, he scored 127 runs at an average of 21.16, which is quite ordinary by his own high standards.
3. Pawan Negi
Royal Challengers Banglore decided to go with Pawan Negi for all the good reasons but he has not come up to the expectations. Negi proved to be a valuable player in the last season as a wonderful all-rounder, He amassed 16 wickets in the 12 matches at an economy of 6.12 runs per over. He also played a couple of innings that reflected a capable batsman in him. However, he has completely failed in achieving what he was expected of.
