Rivaba Jadeja, wife of Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja officially joined Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday as per reports in The Indian Express. She joined the party in presence of Gujarat Agriculture Minister RC Faldu and Jamnagar MP Poonamben Maadam.
Five months ago, Rivaba Jadeja was appointed the president of women’s wing of Karni Sena, a Kashtriya community outfit that had protested the release of Hindi movie Padmavaat. Rivaba has joined the party just months before the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections. She was presented with a saffron scarf as the BJP ministers welcomed her to the party.
Rivaba got married to Ravindra Jadeja in 2016 and has a daughter. Rivaba spends her time between Rajkot and Jamnagar.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja impressed everyone with his comeback in white-ball cricket. He played fantastic cricket in the first ODI against Australia after which Indian skipper Virat Kohli said, “Ten overs for less than 35 is brilliant on this pitch (On Jadeja). He set his fields, it was great to see. He was all geared up that ‘I’m gonna finish the game, I just want an opportunity.’ He looks in a great shape and that’s good for the team.”
The all-rounder had conceded just 33 runs off his ten overs, helping India restrict the visitors for just 236 for 7. India went on to win the match by 6 wickets. The second ODI will be played on March 5 at Vidarbha Cricket Stadium in Nagpur.
