Indian cricketers Ravichandran Ashwin and Jaydev Unadkat said that bowlers should be allowed to wear face-masks while bowling. Unadkat and Ashwin’s suggestion came after Bengal pacer Ashok Dinda got hit on head while bowling.

Jaydev Unadkat Tweeted, “About time that a “face-mask” for bowlers makes its way into all that has evolved in cricket. Its scary how this kind of incidents have become frequent in our game! Hope you good Dinda @dindaashoke .. What do you say Ash bhai? @ashwinravi99.”

Ashwin replied, “Been saying it since 2011, these kind of incidences never used to happen in the pre T 20 Era. Something has surely changed , wonder what it is.”

Indian cricketer Ashok Dinda suffered a horrific injury during a practice match at Eden Gardens. Indian pacer was hit hard by a leather ball and went down on-field.

Pacer Dinda was hit by batsman Vivek Singh who was attempting a straight drive during Bengal’s T20 practice game for Mushtaq Ali championship.

A medical team immediately rushed in and treated Dinda after that he completed his over. Later, Doctors conducted his CT scan and said there is nothing serious.

Dinda was in fine form for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy finishing as the highest wicket-taker for his side with 28 wickets in 8 matches.

Dinda, has played 13 ODIs and 9 T20Is for India and has been Bengal's leading pacer in the domestic circuit for years now. He has a total of 417 wickets to his name in 115 First-Class matches. He was Bengal's leading wicket-taker this season for the sixth consecutive time since 2013-14.
