Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday spilled that they reported and blocked a Twitter user after noticing an extermely objectionable and disturbing tweet directing racist abuse towards a player in response to one of their tweets yesterday.
The IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals took to their official handle to make their stand clear on racism and stated that diversity was an integral part of the team.
"We spotted a highly objectionable & disturbing tweet directing racist abuse towards our player in a reply to one of our tweets yesterday. We reported & blocked the individual immediately. Diversity is integral to Rajasthan Royals. Racism will NOT be tolerated," Rajasthan Royals had tweeted.
The death of George Floyd after a white policeman knelt on his neck caused a global furore and athletes (mainly from black origin) came out in numbers to raise their voice against racism and social injustice.

Cricketers from around the world also joined the moment and started expressing themselves. Chris Gayle wrote he has faced racism within the team setups also but it was Darren Sammy's claim which shook the cricketing world the most. In an Instagram post Sammy, who used to represent Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL, said that people called him 'kalu' and he never knew what it meant.
Former West Indies skipper Daren Sammy said that he was at the receiving end of racism while playing for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), however, at that time, he did not understand what those racial barbs directed at him meant.
