Prithvi Shaw is one of the most talented cricketer among the up coming lot. The right-handed batsman made his debut in international cricket last year in October against West Indies. Prithvi Shaw samashed an amazing century in his debut Test and thus joined the elite list of cricketers to score a century in their first match.
Shaw was then selected for India’s tour of Australia but he was ruled out after he injured his ankle in a practice match against Australia’s Prime Minister’s XI. Shaw revealed memories from his time in the Indian dressing room with some of India’s great players.
Shaw reveled his feelings when he first entered the Indian dressing room. Shaw said, “I have learned a lot of thing, when I first entered that dressing room I was very nervous. There were players with 10 years of experience and were playing for India for a long a time. Captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri made me comfortabe when they said there is no junior or senior in this dressing room, everybody is same when they are playing for their country. That was when I opened up and irritated them with my questions.”
After he was injured he went through a rehabilitation program in Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy and made his comeback in Indian domestic cricket through Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. His form deteriorated after his return as he scored just 3, 0 and 36 in the three matches he played.
Prithvi Shaw will now be seen in the Indian Premier League, where he will be playing for Delhi Capitals. The first match of Delhi Capitals is on March 24 as they will play Mumbai Indians in Wankhede Stadium.
