Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw credits Ricky Ponting, Sourav Ganguly and Shreyas Iyer for teaching him how to handle pressure situations. The young gun who played for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League is now leading North Mumbai Panthers in the ongoing T20 Mumbai League.
Prithvi Shaw scored a fantastic half-century off just 25 balls in a match against his IPL captain Shreyas Iyer’s NaMo Bandra Blasters. Prithvi’s 51-run knock helped North Mumbai Panthers defeat Bandra Blasters. Prithvi Shaw also took four crucial catches in the match including his IPL team-mate Shreyas Iyer.
Captaincy is not a new task for Prithvi Shaw as he has been doing it since school days. Prithvi also led India Under-19 to a World Cup victory last year and became a household name ever since. He led teams in Giles Shield and Harris Shield and was captain of Rizvi Springfield Bandra for many years.
Shaw made his Test debut last year in October against West Indies and scored a century in his first match. The young sensation was selected for India’s tour of Australia but injured his ankle while fielding in a practice match.
Shaw was a crucial part of his IPL team Delhi Capitals and helped them reach their first playoff since 2012. Delhi Capitals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator but lost to Chennai Super Kings in the qualifier two. Prithvi Shaw scored 353 runs from 16 matches with the highest score of 99 runs.
