Praveen Kumar announced his retirement from International cricket

Indian swing bowler Praveen Kumar has announced his retirement from International cricket. Kumar has revealed that he will prepare for a coaching career after a eleven year stint in Indian cricket.

Kumar who was last seen playing for India in 2012 made his debut against Pakistan in 2007. Kumar has also played Indian premiere league for teams like Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujrat Lions and Royal challengers Bangalore and was known for his hat-trick in 2010 season.


The 32-year-old, made 84 international appearances for India out of which he played only six Tests. Praveen made his Ranji Trophy debut in 2005-06 season for Uttar Pradesh and took 90 wickets in his first two-seasons, instantly catapulting him into Indian national team.

Among his best achievements is the match-winning spell he bowled against Australia in the final of the 2007-08 CB Series. He was also India's best bowler during a disastrous Test tour of England in 2011, his name is on the Lord's honours board.
