Pakistan's Imam-ul-Haq breaks former India captain Kapil Dev's 36-year old record

Pakistan batsman Imam-ul-Haq broke Kapil Dev’s 36-year old record as he smashed a blistering 151 runs in a one-day international series against England. The 23-year old opener became the youngest batsman to score more than 150 runs in ODI in England. India’s World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev scored an unbeaten 175 runs in 1983 World Cup against Zimbabwe. Kapil Dev was 24-years old in 1983.

Imam-ul-Haq’s 151 runs powered Pakistan to 359 runs in 50 overs. England chased down the target with help of in-form Jonny Bairstow, who scored 128 runs off 98 balls. Jason Roy scored 76 off 55 which included eight boundaries and four maximums.

Joe Root scored 43 runs before he was dismissed by Imad Wasim. All-rounder Ben Stokes scored 37 runs while Moeen Ali remained unbeaten at 46 runs to take his team home with 31 balls to spare.

For England, Chris Woakes took four wickets from the 10 overs he bowled at an economy of 6.70. Tom Curran picked up two wickets from 10 overs giving away 74 runs, while David Willey and Liam Plunkett picked up one each.

For Pakistan, Junaid Khan, Faheem Ashraf and Imad Wasim picked up one wicket each, while Shaheen Afridi did not take any wicket but gave away 83 runs from 10 overs.
