Ahead of the most awaited World Cup clash between India and Pakistan an advertisement is going viral on social media. A Pakistan TV channel has telecast a promotional advertisement before the India versus Pakistan match. The match features an actor who can be seen mocking Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandan Varthaman who was held captive in Pakistan for more than two days before he was released.

Though the advertisement is light-hearted and funny the netizens have gone crazy and termed it as racist. The character impersonating Abhinandan sports his signature handlebar beard in the 33-second video. The character is wearing a dummy Indian cricket team jersey and sipping tea just like Abhinandan, whose video was released in March this year.

The character is asked several questions related to the team to which he replies Abhinandan’s famous answer, “I am sorry, I am not supposed to tell you this.”

Wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman was captured in Pakistan after his Mig 21 bison aircraft was shot down by Pakistan Air Force. The incident happened a day after India conducted a cross-border strike on alleged terrorist camp. The strike was in retaliation of Pulwama attack that killed 40 CRPF jawans in Jammu & Kashmir.
