Pakistan cricketer whose daughter died leaves for World Cup after funeral

Pakistan cricketer Asif Ali leaves for England to join the World Cup squad after his daughter’s funeral. Asif lost his daughter to stage four cancer earlier this week. Asif’s daughter Noor Fatima, passed away in a hospital in the United States on Sunday and was buried in Faisalabad, Pakistan on Thursday. Asif was playing one-day international series against England when his daughter Noor Fatima died in the United States.

Earlier Asif took to his official Twitter account to thanks the United States embassy for issuing a visa to his daughter. Asif wrote, “My daughter is fighting the stage IV cancer and we are taking her to the US for her treatment. A big shout out to @usembislamabad and @USCGLahore for issuing the visa to us within an hour. Special thanks to Mike, Elizabeth, Tanveer & @TalhaAisham Bhai. Keep my princess in your Duas!”
