On this Engineer's day let's take a look at Indian cricketer-engineers

India along with Sri Lanka and Tanzania are celebrating Engineer’s day which is on the birth anniversary of renowned Indian scientists M Visvesvaraya. In a country which is so obsessed with cricket and engineering, let’s take a look at few Indian cricketers who are also a qualified engineer.

Anil Kumble has played 132 Test match and has 619 wickets to his name but what many people don’t know is he also have an engineering degree to his name. Anil Kumble has a B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rashtriya Vidyalaya College of Engineering, Bangalore.

Ravichandran Ashwin is another cricketer-engineer who is still playing for India. Ashwin is regarded as one of the best contemporary spinners. The 32-year-old has a B. Tech degree in Information Technology from SSN College of Engineering, Chennai.

Javagal Srinath is one of the best pacers of his time he is still actively participating in cricket but as a match referee now. Srinath holds a B.E. degree in Instrumentation Technology from Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysuru. Srinath has 236 wickets from 67 Tests and 315 wickets from 229 matches.

Few other cricketers in the list are EAS Prasanna, Srinivasaraghavan Venkataraghavan and Krishnamachari Srikanth.
