New Zealand vs India semi final, weather report for reserve day

New Zealand and India’s match for the place in the final of the ICC World Cup 2019 was cut short on Tuesday after rain struck Manchester. As Indian bowlers dominated, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor made sure that their team remained in the contest.

Both the batsman scored their half centuries and helped the Kiwis put up 211/5 before rain interrupted the match. The game will be palyed today and New Zealand will pick up from where the left.

Kane Williamson, who became New Zealand’s highest run getter in a single edition of the World Cup, scored 67 of 95 deliveries before Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed him. Nontheless Ross Taylor, who scored 67 of 85 deliveries, is still batting and would try to take the Kiwis beyond 250 run mark.

While, on the other hand Jasprit Bhmrah was economical with the ball and dismissed Martin Guptill giving India an early breakthrough. Ravindra Jadeja was also brilliant with the ball as he only conceded 34 runs in his stipulated 10 overs and dismissed Henry Nicholls who was looking dengerous.

Reserve day weather dosen’t look so great as rain might interrupt the match once again. According to the report, the sky will remain overcast and downpour is expected during the match. The temperature is likely to be around 14-16 degree celsius. And if the match is washed out on the reserve day, New Zealand will be knocked out of the tournament and team India would propel to the final, because of their standing on the points table.

If it continues to rain on Wednesday, India could have a revised total to chase according to Duckworth Lewis Stern method, the total would be 237 of 46 overs. If it’s reduced to 20 overs, India would have to chase 148.
