Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni criticised his home pitch despite winning four back to back home matches. MS Dhoni expressed his disappointment at the pitch conditions in MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Dhoni in a post-match interview said, “I don't think we want to be playing on these tracks. It becomes too low scoring. It becomes slightly difficult for our batsmen as well. After losing (Dwayne) Bravo, it is slightly difficult for us to get the combination right.”
Dhoni also slammed the pitch after their first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, the game they won by 7 wickets. The game was a low scoring affair as RCB were bowled out for 70 runs in the first innings. RCB captain Virat Kohli also criticised the pitch and expressed his disappointment towards it.
MS Dhoni and his men won the match against Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets. The game was again a low scoring affair, where KKR batsmen could only put 108 runs on the board. Fad du Plessis and Kedar Jadhav chased down the target in just 17.2 overs.
Chennai Super Kings will now play their four away matches and the first one will be against Rajasthan Royals on April 11. CSK is sitting at top of the points table with 10 points to their name, having won five out of the six matches they have played so far.
CSK is currently the defending champions as they won IPL 2018 after coming back from a two year ban. MS Dhoni has been its captain since the start of the league in 2008 and has won three titles for his team.
