Former skipper MS Dhoni scored an unbeaten half-century to take India to the victory lines. India beat Australia by six wickets to take the lead in the five-match ODI series by 1-0. In the process Dhoni became the fourth Indian after Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and Rahul Dravid to complete 13,000 runs in List A cricket.

Former England cricketer Graham Gooch is at the top of the list with 22,211 runs in List A cricket.

MS Dhoni also became the highest six-hitter for India in one-day international cricket. Dhoni surpassed Rohit Sharma’s 215 sixes in ODI cricket.

Chasing 237, India were reduced to 99 for four at one point. Then came Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni to rescue India from troubled waters. They started slow but upped the ante as Jadhav scored 87-ball 81, while his partner Dhoni at the other end hit 72-ball 59, finishing the game with his signature last-ball boundary.

Kedar Jadhav was awarded the man of the match trophy for his all-round performance. Earlier, after winning the toss, Australian captain Aaron Finch decided to bat first and Indian bowlers did a fantastic job to restrict them at 236-7.
