The Indian fans and cricket fraternity is in complete awe of MS Dhoni after he helped India to a historic bilateral series win in Australia with hat-tricks of half-centuries. The former India captain also won his first Man of the series award after 7 years. The last time he won the award was in 2011 India vs England, home series.
Following the series win, Indian skipper Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri praised Dhoni for his knock and his calm behaviour which he is widely known for. Shastri went to the extent of saying that he has seen Sachin Tendulkar get angry at times but has never seen Dhoni lost his cool.
This was first time in 71 years that a travelling Indian team has won a Test and ODI series in Australia. India also became the first Asian team to win a Test series on Australian soil. The Indian team won the Test series by 2-1 and the ODI series by 2-1 as well. Late last year, the T20I series was levelled at 1-1.
The Indian team will now travel to New Zealand for a five-match ODI series and three-match T20I series.
