Chennai Super Kings once again proved that their experience and the process matters a lot after they reached Indian Premier League finals. CSK beat Delhi Capitals by 6 wickets to reach their 8th final in IPL. Skipper MS Dhoni showed his great captaincy yet again as he helped Ravindra Jadeja dismiss Trent Boult.
The incident took place in the 20th over, MS Dhoni called Ravindra Jadeja to bowl the final one. Trent Boult was at strike. The first ball went without any runs but the second one he struck to cross the boundary rope, it went straight for a six. That is when Dhoni with his advice came in and said something to Jadeja. In the very next ball, Jadeja dismissed Boult as Dhoni walked with satisfaction.
Chennai Super Kings won the toss and asked Delhi Capitals to bat first. Delhi Capitals started poorly as their opener Prithvi Shaw was dismissed for just 5 runs. Shikhar Dhawan scored 18 runs before he was dismissed by Harbhajan Singh. Colin Munro played some good shots before he was dismissed for 27.
Rishabh Pant played a crucial but rather slow knock as per his own standards, Pant scored 38 runs off 25 balls. Delhi Capitals finished at 147-9 from 20 overs.
Chennai Super Kings came in to bat and their openers straight away proved that they deserve a place in the finals. Both Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis hit a half-century each while Suresh Raina scored 11. Ambati Rayudu finished the innings along with Bravo hitting a four to score the winning runs.
