Australian pacer Mitchell Starc has replaced right-arm bowler Billy Stanlake ahead of the last T20I against India in the ongoing three-match series.
Stanlake has been ruled out of the final match due to an ankle injury which he had sustained during a warm-up session. The pacer also had to miss the second T20I because of the injury.
Australian skipper Aaron Finch has backed Starc for the last T20I saying that the bowler has got enough experience in the limited-over format to give a dominant performance.
"(Starc has) got so much experience in the limited-overs games as well and we've seen how dominant he can be when he gets it right with the ball," Cricket.com.au quoted Finch, as saying.
"We'll have a look at the wicket this afternoon and discuss the side but coming straight off a Shield game with an eye on the first Test, his preparations will be really good," he added.
India are currently trailing the three-match series 1-0 against Australia. After losing the first T20I by four runs in Brisbane, India went to Melbourne with the hope of leveling the series. The match, however, had to be called off due to heavy rains.
With no possibility of series victory, India will take on Australia in the third and final T20I on November 25 to make it 1-1.
