Indian wicket keeper batsman KL Rahul accomplished a spectacular feat after he knocked a brilliant century against New Zealand in the third match of the ODI series at Bay Oval on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old scored his fourth hundred in the limited over format and was behind India putting up a fighting total after yet another poor performance from the top order.

KL Rahul also engraved his name in history books as he bacame the only Indian batsman to score a hundred against Black Caps in New Zealand while coming to bat at No.5 or below. All-inclusive, Rahul became the second Indian to knock a hundred in New Zealand at number five or below after Suresh Raina, who knocked a hunderd against Zimbabwe during the 2015 World Cup.

A batsman knocking a hundred at No.5 is a rare occasion for the men in blue as the last batsman to do so at this spot was former Indian skipper MS Dhoni, who did so against England in 2017.

KL Rahul also went past skipper Virat Kohli in an elite list led by Shikhar Dhawan. Following his latest hundred, The 27-year-old has gone past the three figure mark four times in just 31 innings.
