Kagiso Rabada banned from final Test against England after Joe Root send off

South Africa pacer Kagiso Rabada has been banned from the final Test against England. The 24-year-old was handed a one Test ban after violating the International Cricket Council (ICC) code of conduct for his celebration after getting Joe Root out on the first day of the ongoing third Test.

Rabada ran and celebrated, fists pumping and screaming close to Joe Root after shattering his wicket. He was found guilty of using language, actions and gestures which could give rise to an aggressive response from the batsman.

Rabada was handed one demerit point for the offence but this was his fourth demerit point in the last two years, which results in a one match ban.

Rabada was charged with the offence in Port Elizabeth by match umpire Andy Pycroft. He was found guilty and accepted the penalty.

It is a huge uplift for the English team’s hope of winning the final Test and a major setback for the Proteas. Rabada is the number 4 ranked bowler in the world and South Africa's spearhead.

The fourth test will begin next Friday in Johannesburg.

The South Africa-England series is tied at 1-1.
