Jasprit Bumrah explains why he is not the top wicket-taker in World Cup 2019

Jasprit Bumrah the world number one bowler in one-day international cricket is the main component of Indian bowling attack in the ongoing World Cup. Jasprit Bumrah may not have taken many wickets in this World Cup but he is still the first choice of Indian skipper Virat Kohli to bowl in the deaths.

Jasprit Bumrah during an interaction with the media termed the English wickets at ‘flattest’ in the world. Bumrah said, “Whatever white ball cricket I have played so far, I felt the flattest wickets are those in England. There's no help for the bowlers on these tracks. You see cloud cover and feel that the ball will swing but neither there is seam movement nor there is swing ”

Bumrah who has just 5 wickets from 3 innings in this World Cup was in the list of many cricket pundits as top wicket-taker. But there are still six matches left for the Indian fast-bowler who can turn the tables anytime he wants. Bumrah’s opening partner Bhuveneshwar Kumar suffered from a hamstring during India’s match against Pakistan and will not play in the next match against Afghanistan. Mohammed Shami will open the bowling alongside Bumrah.

India is one of the only two teams with 100 percent win record in this World Cup and they will try to keep that intact in the next match against Afghanistan on June 22 in Southampton, where they played their tournament opener against South Africa.
