CSK skipper MS Dhoni is known for his explosive batting and composed mind. He is often put as an example when there are talks about keeping the calm while the atmosphere on the ground is tensed. Dhoni occasionally plays the kind of destructive hits he is so famous for but when he does, Dhoni makes sure that the audience enjoys it and the bowlers start almost weeping.
The match was played at the MCA stadium where Delhi won the toss and invited CSK to bat first.
Chennai Super Kings put a challenging total of 212 runs before Delhi Daredevils. Whereas DD could not get a firm start and their openers Colin Munro and Prithvi Shaw got out without adding much to the scoreboard. Glenn Maxwell could not do well and the only player who played a substantial inning was Rishabh Pant who hit 79 runs off 45 balls. CSK successfully defended their huge total and Delhi lost the match.
But there came a moment in the match when Dhoni was not very sure of winning the match and his ace bowler Dwyane Bravo was putting the ball in the wrong areas.

CSK's batsmen have all been in a terrific form and have punished the opposition bowlers adequately whereas there is obviously some space for improvement in the bowling department. During the Daredevils’ chase on Monday, the glaring error of one of CSK’s most experienced bowlers – Dwayne Bravo - became too much to handle for even captain cool Dhoni.
