The 30th match of the IPL 11 was played between Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings. The Daredevils lost the match by a difference of 13 runs. The newly appointed captain of the team has now come with up a major statement. Shreyas Iyer has said the reason behind their defeat is the wrong decision passed by the umpire in the match. According to Times now, Shreyas Iyer has alleged that the decision regarding Shane Watson's dismissal was the reason behind Delhi's defeat.
The match was played at the MCA stadium where Delhi won the toss and invited CSK to bat first. The first ball was bowled and Shane Watson was out but was not declared so. Thereafter, Shreyas Iyer went for a review that clearly showed Watson being out but the third Umpire Nandan did not give the decision in Delhi's favour. At the time, Watson was at zero but went on to play an inning of 78 runs off just 40 balls being one of the primary reasons for Delhi's defeat.
Chennai Super Kings put a challenging total of 212 runs before Delhi Daredevils. Whereas DD could not get a firm start and their openers Colin Munro and Prithvi Shaw got out without adding much to the scoreboard. Glenn Maxwell could not do well and the only player who played a substantial inning was Rishabh Pant who hit 79 runs off 45 balls. CSK successfully defended their huge total and Delhi lost the match. Watson hit the maximum runs for CSK whereas DuPlesis also scored 33 runs playing 33 balls. Dhoni hit a half-century as well.
