The eleventh edition of Indian Premier League is here and the Indian fans are ready to experience the fever IPL comes with. IPL matches are interesting and it is a well-known fact but equally interesting are the players and the auction that brings in the players who play in the Indian Premier League. Even in this season of the auction, there were some names that were lesser known but were bought for astronomical amounts and also there were names that were famous and didn't go for the hefty amounts.

However, what turned to be the two most interesting cases were probably that of Mayank Dagar and Aryaman Birla. While the former was bought by Kings XI Punjab for ₹20 lakh, the latter joined Rajasthan Royals for ₹30 lakh — ₹10lakh more than his base price.

Aryaman Birla is the son of business tycoon Kumar Mangalam Birla, the chairman of the Aditya Birla group. The 20-year-old has played just one match for Madhya Pradesh so far and scored 22 runs in the two innings.

Mayank Dagar happens to be the nephew of veteran Indian batsman Virender Sehwag. While the 21-year-old went unsold in the first round of auctions, he was taken up in the second round where Sehwag may have played a part and the management adhering to it, given that the franchise eventually became the last team to complete the minimum set of players required.

Dagar has represented India under-19 team. He represents Himachal Pradesh in the domestic cricket and has the experience of 13 T20s under his belt. His strike rate is modest at 20.8 and has 12 wickets from those matches.
