The ban on Steve Smith and David Warner has put a lot of things in motion. The ball-tampering issue that has now led to a one-year suspension of the two players has led to the sacking of Steve Smith and David Warner as the captain of the teams Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively. Also, they have lost their IPL contracts after Cricket Australia has decided to ban the two players for a period of 12 months.
Taking a strict stand on the issue, BCCI has also suspended the two players. IPL Chairman, Rajeev Shukla informed the Media about their decision on Wednesday. Rajasthan has already announced Ajinkya Rahane as their captain, replacing Steve Smith and now Hyderabad is also about to finalize their captain replacing David Warner.
The IPL is an Indian cricket league and it is visible in its way of working. An IPL match consists of two teams with at least 7 Indian players on both the sides. That already brings puts chocolates in the Indian pockets. However, there is something extra and completely unique that is about to happen in the eleventh edition of the IPL.
In case there comes a confirmation regarding Shikhar Dhawan being the next captain of the Sunrisers Hyderabad, it would be for the first time in the history of 10 years of IPL that all the teams playing the IPL will have an Indian captain.
