India will be hosting Afghanistan in the historic one-off test match commencing from 14 June. Against Afghanistan selectors have named a hefty dose of spinners for their miaden international debut while Indian batsmen are confident very confident that they can tackle all the things whatever comes their way.
Karun Nair was celebrated as the only Indian to score a triple hundred on his debut against England in the December 2016 Chennai Test after Virender Sehwag.Nair plyed his last Test match in March 2017
As quoted in Times of India Karun cited that "It's time we all moved on and looked ahead," he said on Monday. "I am ready to get bigger scores… Not bigger scores, if I can get it again, it'll be good but you're not thinking of that, you're just looking to perform for the team and win games for them."
He termed Afghanistan skipper Stanikzai’s statement that their spinners are better than India’s as “massive”. “They haven’t played Test cricket, while all our spinners have proven themselves. So, there isn’t much to say on that.”

As reported in Firstpost Karun cited that "I have become fitter. For one-and-a-half years I have been out of the team and making efforts to improve my skills. I have worked on batting and fitness. I scored runs in domestic cricket. I know for myself, I am a better batsman than what I was two years ago," said Nair ahead of the one-off Test beginning in Bengaluru on Thursday.
"For me, there is still a long way to go. I still have this Test match to play and "A" series thereafter. I am not thinking so far ahead. Obviously preparations also are going on for "A" series. First and foremost, I would like to do well in this Test match and then move on," said Nair, calling "A" series as a good platform for players.
