The Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) will unveil a stand named after the Indian skipper Virat Kohli on Thursday. The Indian cricket team will attend the unveiling ceremony at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi.
According to a board official, the Indian cricket team will assemble in Delhi before leaving for Dharamshala, where they will play their first T20I match against South Africa on September 15. So the team will be present at the ceremony.
“The boys will be there when DDCA unveils the stand in Kohli's name. The boys are assembling in the capital on Thursday before heading to Dharamshala on Friday,” a senior board functionary said.
The Proteas have already arrived in the country to play the T20I and Test series. Pacer Kagiso Rabada posted a picture with a caption, “Excited to be back in India and looking forward to playing cricket again.” After playing their first match in Dharamshala, Proteas will move to Mohali for the second match on September 18 and Bengaluru for the final match on September 22.
Quinton de Kock will lead the team in the T20I series and South Africa will be looking to get a fresh start after World Cup debacle.
