India vs South Africa: Virat Kohli likely to claim this unique batting record

The year 2017 was one of the best calendar years for the Indian skipper Virat Kohli or one should rather call him 'record breaker' or 'run machine' Kohli because of all the records that he has written on the ground.

It was just recently when he became the fastest to reach 9000 runs in the One Day International. Then in the recently concluded Test series, Virat wrote many records with his bat. For example, he completed his 50th international century in style and became the 8th overall batter who have maximum number centuries on his name and second Indian after the cricket great Sachin Tendulkar.

Virat Kohli also became 11th overall player by completing his 5000 Test runs and he had also equaled the record of Sachin and Ricky Ponting by hitting sixth double centuries of his Test career.

However, even after achieving all these feats who says that Virat will face his biggest captaincy Test during the South Africa tour of India starting from next months. After India's gold run in the home turf, Indian cricket fans are eager to find out how India will perform in the overseas matches. Not just Kohli's captaincy but even his batting skills would be tested in the South Africa tour.

If Virat Kohli manages to keep up with his form in the South Africa tour of India, Indian skipper will make a rarest of rare record. After hitting back to back double centuries against Islanders Virat Kohli has moved to the second spot in the ICC Test ranking. Virat is already on the top spot in the ODI and T20I ranking.
