Virat Kohli has taken  39 Test match (65innings) while Brian Lara had taken 40 Test match (71 innings) to achieve the milestone. Apart from this former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting had taken 42 Test match (75 innings).

Apart from Virat Kohli, Brian Lara and Ricky Ponting, this list also includes Greg Chappell, Allan Border and Clive Lloyd, who completed the fastest 4000 runs in Test cricket as captain. But Virat Kohli has left all these legends far behind and has made a history.
