India beat Bangladesh by 5 wickets to lift the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup title. Left-arm spinner Atharva Ankolekar scalped a five-wicket haul to help India clinch the title. The match was a low-scoring affair as India defended their total of 106 runs. India bundled out Bangladesh for 101 runs in 33 overs.
Karan Lal was the highest scoring batsman in the match as he scored 37 runs. Indian skipper Dhruv Jurel scored 33 runs. India’s decision to bat first backfired big time as Mrittunjoy Chowdhury and Shamim Hossain took three wickets each.
India is the most successful team in the tournament so far since it was started in 1989. India has 7 titles beside their name. In 2012, India and Pakistan shared the trophy after the match was tied.
