Australia win the first ODI by 34 runs defeating India in Sydney cricket ground. Australian skipper Aaron Finch won the toss and elected to bat first. Peter Handscomb and Marcus Stoinis helped Australia put up 288 runs on board. India needed 289 runs to win when they came in to bat.
Rohit Sharma for India made an amazing century before he got out at Stoinis’s ball giving catch to Maxwell. Rohit made 133 runs with MS Dhoni contributing 51 runs at a crucial moment. Shikhar Dhawan and Ambati Rayudu got out for duck while Virat Kohli made 3 runs before getting out at Richardson’s ball.
Jhye Richardson for Australia proved to be a match winner, taking 4 wickets from the 10 overs he bowled and giving away just 26 runs at an economy of 2.60. For India Buveneshwar Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each while Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket.
