As the third and final match between India and Australia was abandoned due to wet outfield, but there was a lot of drama on and off the field at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

Before announcing the final result, a lot of inspection of pitch was done by both Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Australian captain David Warner.


After an initial delay of 30 minutes, Sunil Gavaskar and Brett Lee even presented the pitch report.

With this result, the three-match series was shared 1-1.

The series-deciding T20I match was called off after match officials conducted multiple inspections and ruled that the pitch was not suitable for play.

India won the rain-hit first T20I after overcoming Australia by nine-wickets in Ranchi. However, the visitors drew level with in Guwahati, thanks to a brilliant four-wicket spell from fast bowler Jason Behrendorff who helped the Baggy Greens to register an easy eight-wicket win.

Despite of multiple inspection was done, the crowd did not lose interest and reportedly started chanting "Sachin, Sachin" to keep themselves engaged on what turned out to be a boring evening in Hyderabad.

The T20 series was preceded by a five-match ODI series which India won 4-1.
