South Africa and New Zealand will lock horns this afternoon in the 25th game of the ICC World Cup 2019 at Edgbaston cricket ground. New Zealand who occupies the second spot behind the defending champions Australia in the points table will be looking to continue their winning run in the tournament.
On the other hand South Africa who haven’t had the kind of World Cup that they wished for will have to give their best inorder to keep their World Cup hopes alive. With just three points in five matches, the Proteas still have a thin chance to making it to the semi finals.
Till date South Africa and New Zealand have faced eachother in seven World Cup encounters. Out of which New Zealand have five wins to their name and South Africa with just two.
Looking at the current form and performance the black caps are the favourites going into this clash with a win percentage of 55% as compared to South Africa’s 45%.
However, Faf Du plessis’ led South Africa can easily turn the tables in their favour in the match against the Kiwis, if they reinforce their bowling attack with pacer Lungi Ngidi fit to feature.
