In the final of the Under-19 World Cup final at the Bay Oval Stadium between India and Australia, Desai helped in dismissing Australia captain Jason Sangha.

Earlier, Desai also had a memorable stumping against Pakistan in the semi-final. Desai's way of stumping reminds the fans of Dhoni. On the fifth ball of Roy's over, Khan was trying to play beyond the crease, but Desai failed his plan.
