I am like wine, says Dhoni after impressive knock vs West Indies

Former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 78 runs off 79 balls against West Indies in the third ODI at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Friday. India is leading the series by 2-0.

There has been an element of inconsistency in his batting form but Dhoni believes that
he is like a vintage wine that tastes better with passage of time.

Asked how come he is getting better with age, pat came the reply: "Its like wine". The satisfaction was writ large having scored runs on a difficult track.

"Our top-order has been doing the bulk of the scoring in the last one-one and a half years, so it felt good to get an opportunity and score runs. I think it was the nature of the wicket (what made the knock special). There was variable bounce and at times the pace. It was important to have a partnership at that stage. In my mind, I had 250, and we got there, with Kedar batting with me at the end. It was something the bowlers could defend, but they had to bowl well," he said.

Dhoni looked like his old self while playing and also hit a world record. The right-handed batsman Dhoni (9442) left Australian legend Adam Gilchrist (9410) behind and became the second highest run scorer as the keeper-batsman.

It is Sri-Lankan great Kumar Sangakkara who is resting at the top of the list with 13341 runs.
