India started their World Cup campaign with a bang as they defeated South Africa by six wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah shined with the ball and Rohit Sharma finished the game with his bat as he scored his second World Cup century.

The match saw some brilliant captaincy skills from both sides but Virat Kohli’s plan to dismiss Quinton de Kock stood out completely. Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah made Quinton de Kock pay with their amazing plan in the 6th over of the match.

Virat Kohli asked Jasprit Bumrah to bowl a good length delivery while he removed the extra cover and kept mid-off and cover point fielders. The gap between the two fielders tempted de Kock to play a cover drive but he edged the ball which went straight to the third slip where Kohli was standing.

Kohli took the catch and successfully executed the plan, Jasprit Bumrah was happy as he got his second wicket of the match. The deadly combination of Kohli and Bumrah helped India put pressure on South Africa straight away.

South Africa lost wickets in regular intervals as none of their batsmen were able to touch the 50-run mark. Chris Morris was the highest run-scorer as he hit 42 runs off 34 balls. Yuzvendra Chahal became the first spinner to take a 4 wicket haul in a World Cup match since Anil Kumble did it in 2003.
