The cricket World Cup is going on in full flow in England and Wales. Every team has played at least one match except for India. India will play their first match on June 5 against South Africa by then the Proteas would have already played two matches and they will be playing their third one against India.
The Indian team is the only team who will get time to settle and will get used to pace, bounce and conditions. This is going to be a tactical advantage for Virat Kohli-led team India. Asian teams in the tournament are not looking in good touch as all of them have lost their first match. Afghanistan was the only team who is playing better cricket than other experienced Asian sides.
The narrative for Asian countries might change as soon as India step on the ground on June 5. India has one of the best teams in the tournament with top two ODI players and number one ODI bowler in their side.
If reports are to be believed India were supposed to play their first match on June 2 but the schedule was tweaked after the all-powerful Indian cricket board requested the ICC to postpone India’s first match. The BCCI cited the guidelines of Lodha Committee to the ICC which states that India is supposed to play only after a 15-day recovery period.
