Fastest Fifty IPL 2019: Hardik Pandya registers two records despite Mumbai Indians' loss

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was all guns blazing last night against Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. Hardik Pandya registered two records to his name despite his team Mumbai Indians ended up on the losing side.

Pandya smashed 91 runs off just 34 balls which included 9 maximums and six boundaries. In the process Hardik Pandya hit fastest half-century of IPL 2019 as he scored 50 off just 17 balls. Rishabh Pant held this record before Hardik as he hit his fifty off 18 balls.


Hardik also registered his highest IPL score as he smashed 91 runs at the strike rate of 267.65. Hardik Pandya’s previous best individual score was 61 not-out in 2015.

In a high scoring match, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Mumbai Indians by 34 runs to break their losing streak. The match saw some amazing innings as Shubman Gill, Chris Lynn and Andre Russell also scored half-century each.

Batting first, Kolkata scored 232 runs from 20 overs with Shubman Gill scoring 76, Chris Lynn scored 54, while Andre Russell remained unbeaten at 80. Dinesh Karthik also contributed in the end with 15 off 7. Mumbai Indians lost some early wickets before Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard took the matters in their own hands.

Mumbai tried their best but couldn’t finish the game in the end as Hardik Pandya was dismissed by Harry Gurney. Andre Russell was awarded the man of the match award for his all-round performance as he scored an unbeaten 80 and also took two wickets and two catches.
