Harbhajan Singh is having a fantastic Indian Premier League season this year. He doesn’t play for India anymore but has not announced his retirement either. Harbhajan Singh has played three matches for Chennai Super Kings so far and has been man of the match in two of them.
Harbhajan Singh can be a probable pick for India in the 50-over World Cup this year in England and Wales. When asked if he would like to don Indian colours agains, Harbhajan said, he would love to. “If they call me, I am always ready.”
The right-arm off spinner has five wickets to his name in IPL 2019. In 152 matches he has 139 wickets under his belt. Last year was the worst year for Harbhajan Singh after 2008 as he took just 7 wickets from 13 matches. 2013 was the best year for Harbhajan as he scalped 24 wickets from the 19 matches he played.
Harbhajan played for Chennai Super Kings’ arch rival Mumbai Indians for 10 years before he was released in 2017 and bought by CSK.
Harbhajan played his last T20 International match for India in 2016 and his last Test and ODI match was in 2015. Harbhajan has 417 wickets from 103 Test matches and 269 wickets from 236 matches. His career in international cricket spans for 20 long years as he made his debut in 1998, against Australia in Tests and New Zealand in ODIs.
Harbhajan was part of the 2011 World Cup winning team. Harbhajan took nine wickets from the nine matches he played in the tournament. It would be interesting to see if he would be picked by India’s selection committee.
