Google today is celebrating the 78th birthday of India's cricket Renaissance Man Dilip Sardesai with a doodle. He was popularly known as 'Sardee-Singh'.
Indian cricketer Dilip Sardesai made his first mark in cricket in the inter-university Rohinton Baria Trophy in 1959-60 where he managed to score 435 runs at an average of 87.
Indian cricketer Dilip Sardesai made his debut for India against England in 1961 in Kanpur. He played 30 Test matches for the country before hanging up his boots in 1972, playing his last game in Delhi.
Dilip Sardesai scored 2001 runs at an average of 38.48 including five centuries nine half-centuries to his name.
Rajdeep Sardesai son of Dilip Sardesai is well known journalist. He was the Editor-in-Chief of IBN18 Network, that includes CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat from where he left in July 2014.
Mr. Sardesai died on 2 July 2007, after he was admitted to Bombay Hospital on 23 June following a chest infection.
