With the year 2019 coming to an end, here’s a look at some fine ODI innings of the calender year.
Rohit Sharma – 159 (138) vs West Indies
Shimron Hetmyer dropped Rohit Sharma’s catch when he was on 70 and the Windies must have been worried about the worst then.
The 31-year-old did not quite achieve his double ton but fabricated another significant innings as he knocked 55 off 29 deliveries after reaching his hundred.
In a must win game at Vizag for the national side, Rohit Sharma registered his eighth 150 plus ODI score and went on to become the first opener to smash 10 international hundred in a calender year.

Ben Stokes 84* (98) vs New Zealand
It was a pie in the sky. On the grandest stage of cricket, Ben Stokes guided his team to their first ever World Cup glory against the country of his birth.
He snatched a tie from the jaw of defeat for England and then the host became resolute during the super over to lift the trophy.
Standing in need of 15 runs off the final over, Stokes hit Trent Boult for a maximum over midwicket. Then came another six all along the ground. The deflection off his bat took the ball that was thrown by the fielder at midwicket to the thirdman boundary.
After it was a tie, Stokes came back in the super over to knock eight runs and set up the victory for England.

Shimron Hetmyer- 139 (106) vs India
The left hander is prototypical in his style of batting and really put on display while chasing the traget in Chennai against India.
His scintillating knock enabled his partner Shai Hope to take his time to knock his hundred as well.
Hetmyer put in place a purposeful attack, tearing into the part time bowlers after seeing through overs from the pacers.
It was an innings that reminded people of his brilliance.
Hetmyer's 139 is the fifth-highest individual score against India while chasing in India. https://t.co/ah0OoOISDE#IndvWI

Eoin Morgan- 148 (71) vs Afghanistan
The England captain set the world record for the most sixes in an ODI innings with 17 hits over the boundary rope and condemned one of the best leg spinners in the world to the agominy of delivering the most expensive spell as Rashid Khan gave aeway 110 runs in nine overs.
Morgan’s innings led the English team to their highest ever World Cup total of 397.
Thisara Perera 140 (74) vs New Zealand
At the begining of the year, in a series decider, Sri Lanka had been reduced to 128 for seven before Perera went on a six hitting spell, adding up 169 runs for the final three wickets.
Shielding the Sri Lanka tailenders from New Zealand pacers, Perera knocked 13 sixes and eight fours to take his team ever so close to victory at Mount Maunganui.
