Young wicket keeper batsman Rishabh Pant once again failed to impress behind the stumps during the first T20I against Bangladesh at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Sunday.

The 22 year old persuaded captain Rohit Sharma to go for Desision Review System (DRS) against Somya Sarkar in the 10th over. Spin wizkid Yuzvendra Chahal was uncertain but Rishabh Pant was optimistic of a caught behind chance. However, the UltarEdge displayed a flat line as ball went past the bat.

Soumya Sarkar held on at 20, when Bangladesh were 62/2 while chasing India’s 149. However the men in blue lost the review because of Rishabh Pant, the youngster has previously failed to spot DRS probability against Mushfiqur Rahim, when he was LBW twice.

Mushfiqur Rahim went on to play a match winning knock of 60 off 43 balls, which included eight fours and a six.

The Indian fans flooded Twitter with funny memes on the young wicket-keeper’s bad performance, drawing comparisons with MS Dhoni.

After winning the toss, Bangladesh put India to bat and restricted India to 148/6 in stipulated 20 overs.

Mushfiqur Rahim topped the scorecard with 60 runs, while skipper Mahmudullah was unbeaten on 15 after he hit the winning six as Bangladesh chased down the target with three balls left.
