Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Karthik took a jibe at the Australian media on social media for their obsession with spinner Ravichandran Ashwin amid the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy series as they highlighted the off-spinner's dominating stat after BCCI announced a change in venue for the third Test between India and Australia.

Fox Cricket, an Australian media website, shared the news of the third Test being moved from Dharamshala to Indore and captioned it, "BREAKING: The third India Test has been moved to a new venue ... where Ravichandran Ashwin averages 12.50 with the ball.

"The admin here clearly is one hell of a worrier. Seems to play more mind games with the Australian team than the other way around #INDvsAUS #BGT2023," Dinesh Karthik replied, taking a dig at the Australian media.

There was speculations about the pitch before of the game, mainly in the Australian media. Some Australian media houses also criticized the hosts for' selective doctoring' of the pitch.

The debate over the "doctored Nagpur pitch" is over, and the same Australian media has now revealed that the team's "state of mind," rather than the wicket, is to blame for the massive innings and 132-run defeat in the first Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja were brilliant with the ball against Australia in the first Test, each of them scalping five wickets. On Day 3, Ashwin's five-wicket haul helped India win by innings and 132 runs, while Jadeja's fifer came earlier, as the Aussies were bundled out for 177 runs in their first innings.

Ashwin also took a dig at the Australian media during a conversation with captain Rohit Sharma following India's innings and 132-run victory over Australia in Nagpur.
