The emblem on Dhoni’s gloves, which represents a commando daggar, is known as the Balidaan (sacrifice) in India. He wore the gloves for India’s match against South Africa on Wednesday, which followed with praises from many Indians.
Dhoni, who is a member of the Para Military force in India, exibits the crest of the special forces on his gloves. Which sparked controversy in the cricketing fraternity, yet the news has induced many Indians to tweet about it.
This violates regulations, but he would face penalty, says ICC

Many came out and Tweeted about how proud they were of both Dhoni and the Indian Army. Others told the ICC to focus on umpiring, a reference to the match between West Indies and Australia where Chris Gayle was mistakenly given out twice in the space of three deliveries.
In March, Dhoni had given out camouflage caps to his team mates who wore them during the match against Australia, it was a tribute to the CRPF forces who lost their lives in the Pulwama attack. The incident drove the National sentiments so high that it brought India and Pakistan to the brick of war.
So this is no the first time that Dhoni has been in the middle of such controversy.
Pakistan blamed team India of politicising the sport and demanded ICC to take action, the ICC responded saying that the Indian team had been granted permission to wear the cap. But this time the councils response has been more techincal. It say that as per the rules, wicket keeping gloves can only display two manufacturing logos and nothing more.
Dear ICC .. Balidan means sacrifice - the motto of the Indian Para Special forces. The spirit of sacrifice thats taken a fantastic human being like Dhoni to the top of his game. #DhoniKeepTheGlove pic.twitter.com/Kcx3yurxQM
