Chris Gayle has not been included in the West Indies squad for the shortest format of the game against India. Gayle opted out citing personal reasons, however he will play for Windies against England's visit to the Caribbean and in the 2019 ICC World Cup, WICB chairman of the selection panel Courtney Browne said in a statement.
Windies are currently playing a two-match Test series against India and are one down after losing the first match inside three days. The Windies will also play five-ODIs and three-T20 internationals. The first ODI will be played in Guwahati on October 21.
The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has drafted three youngsters- batsman Chandrapaul Hemraj, all-rounder Fabian Allen and fast-bowler Oshane Thomas in the limited overs squad.
While Jason Holder will be leading the ODI squad, Carlos Brathwaite will be the captain of West Indies T20 team.
