West Indies great opener Chris Gayle, who has made his name written in record book of cricket, has added another feather to his cap by scripting another new record. Chris Gayle has become the first batsman in the world to hit 800 sixes in shortest format of cricket that is T20. He achieved this feat during a match played under the Bangladesh Premier League.
Playing from Rangpur Riders in Dhaka, Gayle made this record by smashing 14 sixes in a match. The West Indian left-arm batsman hit 14 sixes in 51 balls and hit 6 fours in an aggressive innings against Khulna Titans.
At the same time Gayle played a magnificent innings of 126 runs in this match. Gayle completed his century in just 45 balls. Rangpur Riders won the match by 8 wickets on the basis of Gayle's aggressive innings.

Opening in this match, Titans scored 167 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. While chasing the target on the basis of Gayle explosive inning, Rangpur Riders' team completed the target in 15.2 overs and won the match by 8 wickets.
After the match, the 38-year-old Gayle said to the media, “Still feeling fresh. Happy with the win; was an important game for us. This is the time you step up and take the momentum to the final. It’s about momentum when you’re batting as well. That’s a very good wicket – the best in Dhaka. The pressure was there but good partnership with Mithun. You always want someone in the top three to bat deep.”
Lauding his effort, skipper Mashrafe Mortaza said, “Gayle is the king of this format. Once he’s started, it’s difficult to stop him. Fantastic innings.”
