The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in dilemma whether to take Kedar Jadhav to the World Cup. Kedar is expected to be fit by second World Cup game and if he is not fully fit his form is going to be a big concern for Virat Kohli-led team India.
Kedar Jadhav injured his left shoulder during an Indian Premier League match between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings. Jadhav will play the second World Cup match against Australia if not the first against South Africa.
Team India physio Patrick Farhart is currently camping with Kedar Jadhav in Mumbai and will certify him once he is fit to play. The good news is that there is no fracture on his left shoulder and it is also not his bowling arm.
There has been no confirmation on any replacement from the BCCI. Sources say that no such preparation has been made and it is status quo – which means Jadhav could fly on May 22.
The World Cup 2019 will take place in England and Wales from May 30. Host England will play the first game of the tournament against South Africa. Team India will play their first game on June 5 and will play their arch-rival Pakistan on June 16. Before playing against Pakistan they will lock horns with Australia and New Zealand.
