Team India accomplished their seventh back-to-back international series win against West Indies after handing them an absolute hammering in the series decider of their three match T20I series in Mumbai. And, now the two heavyweights will lock horns in the three match ODI series.

But before the Indian team could well be in for a setback, they may lose the service of pacer Bhuvineshwar Kumar after he complained of pain during the recently concluded series.

According to the Mumbai Mirror, Bhuvneshwar Kumar complained of pain after India’s 67 runs victory over the Caribbean side at the Wankhede Stadium. No official announcement has been put forth by the management or the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), but looking at the pacer’s recent history, the team will not take any risk with their ace limited over bowler.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and his injuries has been the story of his career. The pacer, who hasn’t featured in a Test match since the tour of South Africa in 2018, where he was the player of the series , he missed the five match series in England and the following Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia because of back injury.

During the ICC World Cup 2019, the 29-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during India’s much anticipated clash against arch-foes Pakistan, and although he made it through the tournament. The ace fast-bowler missed the T20I series against South Africa and Bangladesh. With that being said the BCCI has asked the National Cricket Academy as to why he was taking so much time to recuperate.

Nevertheless, Bhuvneshwar Kumar did mark his comeback during the recently concluded T20I series against the Windies where after looking out of sorts in the first two games, the pacer came back superbly in the final game. While there is no official announcement regarding the injury, it remains to be as to who will come in as a replacement for Bhuvi.

The first ODI of the three match series will take place in Chennai, starting 15th December.
