More than seven years after he made his debut for Australia, Mitchell Starc has become the seventeenth Australian bowler to claim 200 Test wickets. The 28-year-old achieved this milestone in a match against Sri Lanka and Suranga Lakmal became his 200th victim.
Starc made his Test debut against the Kiwis and his first wicket in the longest format was former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum.
Starc’s strike rate of 51.2 is the second best by any Australian bowler with 200 or more wickets, he is just behind his former teammate Mitchell Johnson’s 51.1.
